The culture of Ancient Greece (1200 B. C. - 146 B.C.) maintained a cosmocentric attitude towards nature, as it placed the human being as a reality in the environment, from which received its laws and he should submit. His attitude towards it was reverential.

Often the great Greek philosophers referred to nature in their writings and dialogues, as in the case of this proverb of unknown authorship. However, it allows us to understand their conception of solidarity and altruism and that all individuals form an indivisible entity with nature.
